Cross River Mall nearest metro station: which stop to use and how to walk it
Cross River Mall sits on Maharaja Surajmal Marg in the CBD Shahdara area of East Delhi, between Karkardooma and Vishwas Nagar. It is not directly above a metro station, so most visitors finish the trip with a short walk or an e-rickshaw ride. This guide explains which station is closest, which one is easiest depending on where you start, and what to expect on the last stretch.
The short answer
The closest station is Karkarduma Court on the Pink Line. It is roughly 750 metres from the mall in a straight line, which usually works out to a 10 to 15 minute walk.
The second option is Karkarduma, the interchange station on the Blue Line and the Pink Line. It is about 1 km from the mall as the crow flies, a little further on foot, and it is the stop most people from central Delhi, Noida and Vaishali arrive at because it is on the Blue Line.
Krishna Nagar (Pink Line) is a third choice at a little over 1 km. Shahdara and Mansarovar Park stations on the Red Line are around 2 km away, so they only make sense if you are already on the Red Line and do not mind a longer walk or a ride.
| Station | Line | Approx. straight-line distance | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Karkarduma Court | Pink | ~0.75 km | Shortest walk; Pink Line riders |
| Karkarduma | Blue and Pink | ~1.0 km | Blue Line riders from Rajiv Chowk, Noida, Vaishali |
| Krishna Nagar | Pink | ~1.2 km | Pink Line riders coming from the Welcome / Maujpur side |
| Shahdara / Mansarovar Park | Red | ~2 km | Red Line riders willing to take an e-rickshaw |
Karkarduma Court station (Pink Line)
Karkarduma Court opened on 31 October 2018 as part of the Pink Line. It is an elevated station named after the Karkardooma Courts complex next to it. Its neighbouring stations are Karkarduma on one side and Krishna Nagar on the other.
If you are already on the Pink Line, this is the most convenient stop. From the station, head towards Maharaja Surajmal Marg and follow it towards CBD Shahdara; the mall building is visible from the main road. The walk passes the court complex area, which is busy on weekday mornings and quieter after office hours.
If you are on the Blue Line, you can change to the Pink Line at Karkarduma and ride one stop to Karkarduma Court. Whether that saves time depends on the wait for the connecting train; many people simply walk from Karkarduma instead.
Karkarduma station (Blue Line and Pink Line)
Karkarduma is an interchange station. The Blue Line platforms opened on 6 January 2010 and the Pink Line platforms on 31 October 2018. On the Blue Line, the next stations are Anand Vihar towards Vaishali and Preet Vihar towards Dwarka Sector 21. The station is on Bhartendu Harish Chandra Marg.
From central Delhi (for example Rajiv Chowk), the Blue Line takes you straight to Karkarduma without a change. From here the mall is roughly 1 km to the north. On-street e-rickshaws usually wait near the exits and the ride is short; agree the fare before you get in.
Our separate Karkardooma metro station guide covers the station itself in more detail: lines, platforms, neighbouring stops and the most common mix-up with Karkarduma Court.
Routes from common starting points
From Rajiv Chowk, Connaught Place or Yamuna Bank
Take the Blue Line towards Vaishali and get off at Karkarduma. Walk or take an e-rickshaw for the last kilometre, or change to the Pink Line for one stop to Karkarduma Court.
From Noida
The Noida branch of the Blue Line joins the Vaishali branch at Yamuna Bank. From Noida, you usually ride towards Dwarka, change at Yamuna Bank to a train towards Vaishali and get off at Karkarduma. Check the platform displays at Yamuna Bank, because the change is easy to miss.
From Anand Vihar (ISBT, railway terminal or Namo Bharat)
Anand Vihar is one stop from Karkarduma on both the Blue Line and the Pink Line. If you arrive by long-distance bus or train, the Pink Line from Anand Vihar to Karkarduma Court is two stops. Some visitors prefer an auto or cab for this short distance, especially with luggage.
From North-East Delhi (Welcome, Maujpur, Jaffrabad)
Ride the Pink Line towards Anand Vihar and get off at Krishna Nagar or Karkarduma Court. Karkarduma Court gives the shorter walk.
Walking tips for the last stretch
- Maharaja Surajmal Marg is a wide, busy road. Cross only at signals or marked crossings.
- After dark, the stretch around the court complex can feel empty once offices close. Use the main road rather than side lanes.
- In summer, the walk from Karkarduma can be tiring in the afternoon heat. An e-rickshaw for the last kilometre is cheap and quick.
- If you are going for a film, leave a margin of 15 to 20 minutes between your metro arrival and the show time.
Checking times and fares
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) publishes first and last train times, fares and a journey planner on its official website and app. Times differ by line and station, and they change during maintenance work or special events, so check before you travel late in the evening. Smart cards and QR tickets work on both the Blue and the Pink Line.
